If you are new to The Foolish Four area, take a little tour of the pages below to get familiar with what we offer and learn how this mechanical investing strategy works.
The Foolish Four, and other Dow Investing Strategies, Explained: This is a relatively detailed explanation of how the various Dow Investing strategies, including our favorite, the Foolish Four, work. Warning: It's long -- print it out for bed time reading.
The Foolish Four Portfolio Report: Each day we report on our real-money portfolio that demonstrates The Foolish Four in action, and we discuss the strategy and investing in general. Also on this page is a listing of the Top 10 Dow stocks as identified by the RP formula. The RP formula is given in The Foolish Four Explained and is the best method we have found yet to identify stocks that are likely to perform well in the coming year. On this list we identify the current Foolish Four stocks with asterisks. These are the stocks one would buy if starting a Foolish Four portfolio today. They change as the prices change and will not normally match the official Foolish Four portfolio which renews in late December.
Today's Stock Lists: While everyone should understand the simple process of selecting Foolish Four stocks, you don't have to fire up your very own calculator each time. Just head over to Today's Stock Lists and use our stock list generator to instantly get the current stocks for the Foolish Four, Beating the Dow or Beating the S&P (a companion strategy to the Foolish Four using non-Dow stocks).
YTD Dow Returns: Year-to-date returns for various Dow-based Strategies and each individual Dow stock -- a good place to compare various strategies. Updated monthly (or more often, occasionally).
The Foolish Four Evolves: An article that explains the changes that Foolish Four has gone through. Were the old versions flawed? Nope. They continue to work just as well as always, but when we find a better way to select our Foolish Four stocks, we use it.
A History of the Dow: A history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average written on its 100th Anniversary. The series includes lists of original and current DJIA stocks as well as an explanation of how the Dow is calculated.
Statistics Center: How the Foolish Four has performed for the past four decades.
Discuss The Foolish Four: Our very lively Dow Investing/Foolish Four message board. In order to post any questions or answers, you will need to register for our message boards (it's free) and log in. If you just want to read the posts, have at it!
