It started with a mouse and became a $23 billion entertainment empire. Disney (NYSE: DIS) has grown since the days when Mickey Mouse was whistling "Turkey in the Straw" as Steamboat Willie. While its strength still lies in the core leisure sectors of animation and theme parks that were carved out during Walt's tenure, the company is now a major player in broadcast and online content with its acquisition of Capital Cities/ABC and majority stake in Go.com (NYSE: GO).
