About the Conference
The fifth in a series of Human Factors and the Web conferences will be held on Thursday, June 3, 1999 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This year's conference will be hosted by NIST and sponsored, in part, by AT&T Labs, ORACLE Corporation, National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD), and Bell Atlantic Corporation.
The first four conferences were sponsored by

The purpose of these conferences is to provide a forum for sharing information among a community of human factors engineers, designers, and developers who are interested in producing web sites that are more useful and usable. The National Institute of Standards and Technology is located at Gaithersburg, Maryland, about 25 miles north from the center of Washington, DC.
