

The NIST Mobile id interaction specification materials started as a project for the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team. They wanted a specification for a mobile fingerprint device on a small platform to take into the field. The "Quick Capture Platform" (QCP)specifications are the result. It soon became apparent that these specifications had a wider application to the Mobile ID project. NIST has posted the QCP materials to help in the development of the Mobile ID projects.
