Experiments in Remote Collaborative Meetings

• Goal: To support distributed collaboration for meetings in a smart space

  • Creation of virtual model of the smart space, where
    • Devices can be controlled remotely,
    • People in remote locations can still participate
    • Activities in meeting are automatically stored for later summarization

• Issues:

  • Can emerging standards be used to support interoperability?
  • Are the interfaces for virtual access usable, effective, efficient?
  • Can a visual timeline be used as a control for summarization?
