UE2 - Directions to NIST

The symposium will be held at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Administration Building (101), Green Auditorium, Gaithersburg, Maryland.

• From the Airport:
  For attendees who will be arriving by air at Washington National or Dulles International Airports, the hotel is accessible by using Suburban Airport Shuttle, 301/279-2222. Commercial van service is available from Baltimore-Washington International Airport by calling BWI Limo at 410/441-2345.

• By Metrorail:
  Gaithersburg is also accessible by Metrorail from Washington National Airport. Take the Yellow Line train marked "Mt. Vernon Square" to "Gallery Place" and transfer to a Red Line train marked "Shady Grove" to the Shady Grove station. Service is every 6 to 15 minutes depending on the time of day. The time from National to Gaithersburg is about 55 minutes. Cabs are available from the Shady Grove metro to the hotel.

  A NIST shuttle van operates for official visitors from the Shady Grove metro station to NIST. The van leaves the Shady Grove station on the quarter and three-quarter hour (e.g. 8:15, 8:45, . . .4:45, 5:15) from the west side "Kiss and Ride" parking lot.

• By Car:
  Gaithersburg is located about 25 miles northwest of Washington, DC via Interstate Rt. 270 North. To reach the hotel, take Exit 11, Rt. 124 East, Montgomery Village Ave. At the second light, proceed straight across Rt. 355 (Frederick Ave.). At the next light, turn left onto Russell Avenue (Fire House Station on the left corner) The hotel is on your right. To reach NIST, follow Rt. I-270 North to Exit 10, Rt. 117 West, Clopper Rd. At the first light, turn left onto the NIST grounds. Follow the signs to the Administration Building.
